About this session
Testing modern systems, especially those powered by AI, faces a combinatorial explosion of inputs. Exhaustive testing is impossible and even pairwise often misses critical scenarios. Metaheuristics provide a way forward. Testimize applies a hybrid Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm that combines boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, and optimized pairwise coverage. The result is smaller test suites, greater input diversity, and 20–70% higher quality compared to standard pairwise.
In this talk I will introduce metaheuristics in simple terms, explain how they power the Testimize engine, and walk through a live demo on practical day-to-day testing scenarios. I will also use short analogies, such as autonomous vehicles with thousands of factors, to highlight why combinatorial explosion matters. Finally, I will show how Testimize works in practice, either directly in code or through its new MCP Server: reading requirements from Confluence, generating optimized test cases, creating step-by-step scenarios in Zephyr, and producing data-driven automated tests.
